Fish In Custard - Virtual Office Support
Virtual Office Support?
Swamped, over-stretched businesses in need of support have the option of taking on an employee to relieve the pressure. However most small businesses shy away from this option and continue to try and complete everything with their available resources. This can lead to mounting stress levels and the increased likelihood of important actions being delayed or even forgotten.

By spending time on back office work, small businesses and owner managers can end up being so busy that the standard of delivery of their product/service is diluted. Few people go into business to do admin!

Fish in Custard offers small businesses the opportunity to outsource either regular tasks or ad hoc projects to a dedicated individual. The workload is then shared without the extra paperwork and the commitment of taking on a permanent employee.

This gives the business room to breathe and to focus on the future growth and development as well as maintaining a high standard of delivery.

"Fish in Custard proved to be an invaluable resource for us. Always thinking one step ahead and seamlessly picking up the things we couldn’t quite handle – like having another set of arms with a great attitude!"
Andrew Hatcher, The Working Knowledge Group.

A Brief History...
Fish in Custard was launched in June 2005 by me, Hannah Lewis. I had worked previously with my brother, James for four years. James invented PopVase, a waterproof, paper, pop-up vase for flowers! We all worked hard to achieve sales of 300,000 units worldwide and built the brand so a licensee became interested and took on the product. I supported the business and as with many small businesses had a number of roles; Office Manager, Book Keeper, Customer Relations, Supplier Management, Sales & Sales Processing, Marketing, Web Developer and IT Support to name a few! When I managed to get out of the office and meet other people running businesses they all said that they needed their own 'Hannah' but couldn't face actually employing anyone. So when the deal was done and PopVase was licensed, I decided not to jump back on the corporate train but to go it alone, become self-employed and offer Virtual Office Support to swamped businesses.

Fish in Custard!!??
Now when I am out networking the number one question people ask me is where I got the name from.... Well it is actually a dish: people eat Fish in Custard! I was 16 and visiting my brother in Kenya-who was living out there studying for his PHD when we spotted it on a menu. James ordered it and it really was boiled fish in sweet custard. The race was then on to find a business that fitted the name!
